Senior Pics Photo Session

We found a photographer online and had Katie's senior pictures taken yesterday. She had 3 changes of clothes and looked so pretty. She's VERY photogenic. Her face was hurting from so much smiling!
I took my camera along and took a few pictures while the photographer was snapping hers. I know since mine look pretty good, that hers will probably be great! I swooned when I saw her camera. VERY nice. I was very pleased with the location the photographer chose. We actually had them done at the museum here in town. They had great backdrops for photos.
Here are a few of mine (untouched).
I can't wait to see the real photos. We should be able to look at them online this weekend!

Blogging

I've been a bad blogger! I'm still alive and kicking... just not blogging!
What's going on? Well, as usual, I have procrastinated on so many things and time just keeps flying! I have been getting up earlier and earlier and there still isn't time in the day to do all of the things I need to do! This morning I got up at 4:30! Seriously!
I've got lots of design work due in the next couple of weeks and since I am leaving for Kansas in ONE WEEK, I have only this week to get it all done!
I had planned on doing Katie's senior pictures myself, but my wonderful amazing aunt and uncle (who are also Katie's Godparents) suggested I get them done professionally and they would help out. SO, I've found a very reasonably priced free-lance photographer and we are getting those done this week. I'll be getting those invitations out as soon as the pictures come back!
And I've also been working on my resume! I've been watching the newspaper and haven't seen any job openings in my field, but I figured it was time to polish up the resume and start the ball rolling. I'm hoping to work part-time and still do my design work on the side. It's what I love, but it just doesn't pay the bills!
And then there are the endless to-do list items.... laundry, cleaning, exercising, meetings, making dinner, getting sunshine, checking email, trips to the post office, bank, pharmacy, doctors, meetings, etc!
WHEW.... There's so much to do!
What have you been up to?

Spring Break

Katie and I had a great time on our Spring break trip.
I picked a few of my favorite pics to share with you.
We arrived on Saturday. It was only about a 7 hour drive, but it was a long trip for Katie after getting her wisdom teeth pulled on Friday.
Sunday was Easter and we went to Peg's church.

After church was the Easter egg hunt.
The twins were adorable!

Then everyone took a nap except for Zach and I. We took a walk on the path behind Peg's house. It's a very scenic walk and I introduced Zach to one of my favorite hobbies- bird watching!

Monday was Katie's birthday.

We went to dinner at "On the Border" and had a little bit of cake later.

I still can't believe she's 18!
I have more pics to share from the rest of the trip. I'll try and get those posted later!
Thank you, Peg, for letting us spend our spring break with your family!

No More Wisdom Teeth

Katie had her wisdom teeth pulled one week ago today. Here is a picture of her after we arrived home from the surgery. I think she was still a little loopy. She kept the ice on her face for the first two days and I think it really saved her from swelling up like a chipmunk. The thing on her head was like an open ended tube sock that held the ice packs on her cheeks and velcroed at the top. She has gauze in her mouth that had strings attached so we could easily pull them out.
Katie did so very well and recovered pretty quickly because she listened to all of the doctor's orders.
No more wisdom teeth, but she is still pretty smart!

The Mourning Dove & The Picture Window

Kevin had a base event to go to last night and Katie and I decided to have a girl's night. We had just settled into watching a chick flick (Made of Honor) when we heard a large thump and looking out the back door saw feathers just a' flying! We both ran to the door and saw this poor little mourning dove just laying on the deck. He was breathing really hard and looked so scared. We went out to check on him and he moved onto his legs more, but he couldn't fly. We got him some food and water and Katie got onto the Internet to see what we could do. We thought at first that he had broken a wing.
I started calling veterinarian offices to see if they could help me and one of them gave me a number to a lady here in town. She was an older lady who used to be a Federal Bird Bander and she was so sweet. She told us to wrap him in a towel and place him in a box for the night and she was going to try and find a place to take him. But, when we went back out to get him, he was able to fly away.
I am so glad our story had a happy ending!
I do love the picture window as I am always taking pictures from inside the house and they turn out pretty good. But I think we're going to have to get some stickers or something to put on the window to stop the birds from trying to fly in! We've had only one fatality so far. We buried a little sparrow a couple of weeks ago. A funny coincidence...it was raining that day too.
Have a great weekend... thanks for visiting!

Creating Motivation!

I am in desperate need of motivation to lose weight!
I decided to take matters into my own hands and create my own motivation!!!
Anyone is invited to join me!
here are the rules of:
The TEN Day Motivator
The challenge is to lose weight.
Starting today- April 1st! There is no time like the present! Sign up for the challenge!
You will receive an email from me every day on something to try that day to add to your motivation. This is an optional motivator. You can choose to lose the weight any way you want... i.e. Atkins, Slim Fast, Alli, or just plain hard work.
Whoever loses the most weight (on an honor system) will get a $10 gift card from me for your choice of Starbucks, Target, Hobby Lobby or I-Tunes!
End date is April 10th. I will need your results emailed to me on April 11th.
I am including myself in the challenge.
I am hoping of course to be the winner myself and not have to send anyone the $10 gift card.
When this 10 day challenge is over, maybe someone else will step up and do another 10 day challenge with their rules and their choice of prize?
Who's in???
Email me (angel2stampATyahooDOTcom) your starting weight if you want to join me!!
